IR Remote Controlled Home Appliances Using Arduino

This IC is mostly used to connect RF and infrared circuits. This IC converts a 12-bit parallel signal to a serial signal. There are four data bits and eight address bits in each of the 12 bits. RF receiver receives the data serially and then gives to the HT12D decoder to convert it to the parallel. In this project, I will show you how to design an RF Remote Control Circuit for Home Appliances.

When somebody enters the room the sensors at the one end are programmed in such a way that on consecutive operation of two LED complies micro- controller to count as a person to be entering the room. This information can be further used to manipulate the operation of electronic appliances automatically. When the display shows a zero then all the appliances will be signaled to turn off, this helps in the energy efficient housing system. The whole system works on the fact that dialing the number 0 connects the telephone line to the appliance mode. When 0 is dialed, the corresponding signal is decoded by the DTMF decoder into the corresponding BCD code.

Using remote device user can access many home appliances and devices in smart homes. Remote devices contained number of buttons and multiple transreceiver. This setup provides higher operational complexity around the space with numerous devices or appliances. Here the application is a touchscreen-based graphical user interface where buttons are designed to control the switching on and off of each load as well as all loads together. At the receiving end, the RF module demodulates the received signal and feeds it to the decoder. The decoder decodes this signal to get the original binary data.

The final results indicate that the accumulated bandwidth consumption of the remote control system, the conventional XML, and the RF4CE-based approaches are 1.32, 40.674, and 34.38 Kbytes, respectively.
